What is DVR?

DVR stands for digital video recorder. It is an instrument that records video and stores them in a hard disc. It works as a memory device and even if you have not given the recording option it records things into its buffer and keeps details of the last thirty minutes of data that has been inputed .there are several different DVR companies in the market. The most famous among them are TIVO and DISHNETWORK

1. TIVO:
Tivo is a brand of video recorder very popular among the people in united states during the late eighties... using these machine you can record tv programmes directly while on telecast and store them in your hard disc for future view. The functionality of a tvr are very much similar to a VCR but the difference lies in the fact that tvr has a permanent memory and cannot be removed. Unlike the traditional VCR you can play previously recorded video while recording newer ones. Programs may be stored until internal storage is filled, at which time the unit will dispose of older programs (unless flagged to be saved until manually deleted), to allow for new programs to be recorded. While this ability can be crudely approximated by using multiple VCRs (for programs on different tapes), a Tivo DVR can also play a partial program while it is still being recorded, a feat which is impossible to accomplish with traditional VCRs. This feature allows a program to be viewed (in its entirety) without waiting for the recording to finish first.

2 DISH NETWORK
Dish network is a satellite television transmission service similar to that of direct TV. Established in 1996 by echo star the company is now the fore runner in satellite television communication system. Dish network within some years of being established became an instant hit especially in the country 
Side. This is because dish network is a satellite television network system
